Today, I worked out twice. My first workout was at the 24 Hour Fitness gym in Burbank.
Workout: Squats- Went up to 575lbs for 3 reps - Belt Low Front Box Squats- Went up to 365lbs for 3 reps- Belt Bench- Went up to 230lbs for 10 reps, 315lbs for 3 reps, and 275lbs for 10 reps Push Press- Went up to 275lbs for 5 reps Deadlits- Went up to 550lbs for 3 reps- Belt and Straps T-Bar Rows- Went up to 270lbs for 5 reps and 3 sets- 235lbs for 10 reps My second workout was at the Force Balance/Paragon BJJ gym. I missed the warm ups, but for class we went over a side control reversal, a counter to the bull fighter pass, and a knee on belly escape. I got to rep a lot with the side control reversal and counter to the bull fighter pass on both sides, but I skipped the knee on belly to preserve my ribs. I came out fine. The techniques were good to go over, since they are similar techniques that I use when I roll. After that, I did some stretching and foam rolling. Then, I did some plyometrics and core work. Tomorrow, I'm just going to drill to hone my skills, foam roll, and stretch. At this point, I'm ready to go son. For this tournament, I need to relearn on how to be first, since I've pulled guard in tournaments for most of the year. I need to be more patient and actually use my takedowns. I hate working for the takedown, because I get bored and frustrated after sometime. Good luck to all my training partners and friends this weekend. Mabuhay, Namaste, Dattebayo!
