The goals that I have for myself for the rest of the year is to win the 2017 SJJIF World Championships in both the Gi and NoGi divisions and to become CCNA Security Certified. I think this will be the last tournament for me this year. I'm still debating to do the IBJJF NoGi Worlds.
For my weekly goals, I plan on going through 4 Audiobooks this week for continual learning. The audiobooks that I have listed for this week are Primary Greatness - The 12 Levels of Success by Stephen Covey, Performing Under Pressure by Hendrie Weisinger and J. P. Pawliw-Fry, On Fire by John O'Leary, and Jump by Steve Harvey. Since my commute is 3 - 4 hours each day, I use this time to learn while I am in traffic and set the speed settings to either 1.6 to 2.0 to decrease the time to go through each audiobook. Also, I plan on reading half of the book, Tools for Titans by Tim Ferriss. I borrowed the audiobooks and the Tools of Titans book from Overdrive using my library card. I have to go through the material quickly, since I have about 2 - 3 weeks to borrow them.
I'm also reading about understanding the ASA. I plan on reading or watching 7 hours worth of material from Safari Books Online. Luckily, I get a subscription from work to go through this material for free. I also plan on reading 1 book to my kids, since I want them to be readers as well.
I wrote down in my journal to work on stretching for 10 minutes each day to help increase my flexibility for Jiu Jitsu. Also, I plan on getting 70,000 steps to work on my physical activity levels, since I am sitting down a lot throughout the day. Finally, I plan to do 3 days of Jiu Jitsu training this week to prepare for the tournament at the end of this month. I want to make sure that I keep my timing and strategies down pack before tournament time. As far as conditioning goes, I'm not worried since I recently did a half marathon and I stay in shape year round.
