Today, I trained once at Hollywood BJJ/ Paragon BJJ Hollywood. I took the NoGi BJJ class. Today, wasn't really a class. It was more open mat then anything else. I haven't train the past couple of days, because of work and school.
Today, I got to roll for four 6 minute rounds. I got to roll with a blue and purple belt, Antoni Hardonk, and Sean Patrick Flanery. I got submitted by each and I got to learn a little bit of something from each person and each roll. The big thing today for me was that it was the first time that I got to roll with each person. The guard, defense, and sensitivity was the same from each person, so I got some good analysis and feedback on their type of roll and game. Now, I can see clearly on where my instructor, Steve Cardenas, came from. A lot of their game mimics on what he does, but there are some differences that I notice that separates each of them.
I'm glad that each person was controlled and fluid, because I'm still injured. Everyone was cool. We even got to share some theories and thoughts on rolling and training. Even though, I came out fine, I did get handled from all positions. I think I was too hesitant in the most part. I was more trying to get a feel for things. If I went any harder on the roll, I think I would gotten injured.
I was happy about the training, because I got to see what the next level looks like and I know what to expect next time. Also, I got to see things that I normally don't see when I roll, even though it's been awhile since I last rolled. Finally, they have guys my size, so that's
