Today, I worked out twice. My first workout was at the Tapout Training Center in Downtown LA. I hit the weights before going to Tsunami BJJ for some Jiu Jitsu Training.
Workout:
Low Box Squats- Went up to 5 sets- 515lbs- 1 rep
Low Front Box Squats Went up to 450lbs- 1 rep
Barbell Rows- 3 sets- 345lbs- 5 reps
Scramble Grip Trainers Bodyweight Hangs- 2 sets- 20 seconds
For tonight's Jiu Jitsu class, Professor Perry Hauck was teaching class. Tonight's lessons were De La Riva guard break and pass to side control. Then, we transitioned from there to North South Control to a North South Kimura submission. After that, he showed a grip break from the North South Kimura position, in case an opponent grips their own Gi or Belt. Next, he showed a transition from there to the paper cutter. Finally, from the North South position, he showed another transition to a scissor leg choke from the North South Kimura Control position.
I got a lot of reps in for each transition and then we got to pull it all together in review. I had a lot of small details from Professor Perry in different positions in controlling the opponent. I came out healthy and learned a lot. My shoulder and ribs are getting better. I can't wait to roll soon. Hopefully, I can heal up by next week, so I can get the rolls in.
