Band Pull Aparts on Mini Bands- 3 sets- 10 reps on 3 different angles (horizontal, 45 degree angle, and overhead)
Jump Squats with 10lb Plates on each hand- 5 sets- 6 reps- 30 seconds rest between each set
Front Jump Squats- 25lbs, 35lbs, and 45lbs- 6 reps- 30 seconds rest between each set
Barbell Deadlifts- 135lbs- 10 reps, 225lbs, 315lbs, 405lbs, and 495lbs- 2 reps- Beltless, 555lbs, 605lbs, and 625lbs- 1 rep- Belt and Straps, and 545lbs- 5 reps- Belt and Straps
My second workout was at the Tsunami BJJ gym in Torrance. My warm up was some core work, corrective stretching, and dynamic stretching with some basic BJJ movement. I did a lot of reps today while working with both Professor Perry Hauck and John Ouano. I worked on all the same moves from Monday's training and added a modified RNC choke within the transitions.
I had a lot of help from both instructors in my movement and weaknesses within these transition. I was very lucky to work with them exclusively today. Not a lot of people get a chance to work with BJJ Black Belts exclusively. I came out healthy today. I feel stronger and more refine within my movement.
So far, I've lost 2lbs from this week. I weigh 289lbs now. My goal is to weigh in at 275lbs by March 29th, 2014, since I'm competing at the USPA California State Championships for that weight class in the Raw Open Division. All of my changes so far is been on my diet. I haven't been as active and I've kept my workouts short. Hopefully, I can get a Class I total to compete at Worlds in November.
