Tonight, I was training at the Westside Training Center. I took both the Beginner and Advance BJJ class. The lessons tonight for both classes were on the crucifix. The set up was hip to hip to the crucifix to forward roll and finishes were to get the collar choke, half nelson collar choke, an armbar, and a reverse omaplata. I got a lot of reps on each move and finish.
I got to roll several times for each class. The main roll was rolling with the instructor, Kris Novell. He's a really high level purple belt with eight years of experience. The shade of purple on his belt shows more than his movements on the type of experience that he has. I got to work on both my guard and passing game. I got submitted a lot, but I got to see the holes in my game that I need to work on. I feel healthy and my movements are improving. The best thing was that I came out healthy and I got to level up on my experience and knowledge.
