I was training this morning at the Untamed Jiu-Jitsu in West Covina. We started out with an double leg outside leg trip to side control. Then, we transitioned from there to the north south kimura. After that, we did a transition from there to an armbar in full sequence with both the kimura grip and grabbing the wrist to finish the arm bar. Next, we did positional training from both the top and bottom position from side control and then we got to do some sparring. Finally, we did 2 rounds of hip escapes.
I would like to thank Professor Andrew Viado for today's class and thanks to everyone that I got to train today at Untamed Jiu-Jitsu. It was great seeing everyone there despite the high heat for this weekend. I was able to get a lot of stretching in between each break when Professor was going over the moves, but I still felt pain on my leg during the arm bar transition and during the take downs. I'll work on more single leg movements during the next workouts to see if the knee pain would go away.
I did some core work when I got home. Mostly, planks, various crunches, and bridges. Nothing too crazy to document. I was just putting in some extra work. Also, I used the big stick for myofascial release and trigger point. Tomorrow looks like a push\pull workout with some bench and deadlifts. I'll have to wake up early before the kids get up to get the training in. Otherwise, I won't be able to make it to the gym.
