Powerlifting Training 9/7/18 - Squats Day

Tonight's training was on heavy squats. All of the sets felt great and the accessory work went well too. I'm moving up weight in each session and the progression has been steady and I'm on pace to hit over 700lbs at the meet, if I hit depth. I think that is the only issue at this point. I'm starting with a light opener to make sure that I get something on the board, and then I'll start attacking the records for my age group and weight class.

Warm Up

Barbell Squats - 45lbs and 135lbs - 10 reps, 225lbs and 315lbs - 5 reps, 405lbs and 495lbs - 1 rep

Workout

​Barbell Squats - 575lbs and 625lbs - 1 rep, 4 sets - 545lbs - 2 reps
Leg Press - 630lbs, 1080lbs, and 1440lbs - 10 reps, and 1440lbs - 12 reps
Jump Squats - 4 sets - 8 reps
Body Hollow Isometrics - 3 sets - 35 seconds


Cool-Down

Corrective Stretching - 5 minutes
Massage Stick - 5 minutes
